ABOUT THE MALFINE TRILOGY AND JANE JAKEMAN

The Malfine trilogy consists of three atmospheric crime novels set in the early nineteenth-century. The books are Let There Be Blood, The Egyptian Coffin and Fool's Gold. They feature a Byronic hero, Lord Ambrose Malfine, heir to a great estate. Having fought for Greek Independence and returned to England to convalesce from his wounds, he is called out of seclusion to solve a series of murders ... and encounters a mysterious governess.

The author, Jane Jakeman, is Welsh by birth. She now lives in Oxford, England, with her husband and their two half-Siamese cats, Philosopher and Explorer. Jane has a doctorate in art history from Oxford University. She is the author of numerous articles and reviews in British journals and newspapers, such as The New Statesman, The Oxford Magazine and The Sunday Times. She has published a distinguished series of interviews with writers in The Independent, for which she regularly reviews crime fiction.
